The aim of this course is to introduce students to different types/families of manufacturing processes. It will aid them understand benefits, limitations and application areas of each process, as well as evaluate process selection criteria. In addition, it will provide a practical insight on implementing said processes to manufacture real parts and the associated challenges of each.
Proposed structure: Designing and analyzing simple product that requires multiple manufacturing processes
Theoretical lecturing followed by practical lab exercise, hosted by the “expert” partner and streamed to others
